Triphala

Triphala – Triphala Rasayana is a mild Ayurvedic natural herbal colon cleanser, tonifier, and rejuvenative that is non-habit forming. Most herbal and over the counter colon cleansers/laxatives are harsh and damaging on the gastro-intestinal tract. Triphala helps heal the GI tract including the colon.

Morning Drink

This is a wonderful way to start or end your day. I love the texture and sometimes I add up to 1/4 cup of Chia to make a pudding. Make sure you drink enough water after, though. That is a lot of chia in one sitting!

Enjoy!

Morning Drink
To 2 cups of Hot Water
1 Tbs Flax Seed or Chia Seeds
1 Tbs Seseme Seeds
1 Tbs Honey
1 Tbs Carob or Cocoa

Healing Guts

Guts are my passion.

I love helping people feel better and getting the colon (large intestine) to work like it is meant to. I love the satisfaction of having people return glowing from having long term symptoms cleared up.

I am on a quest to heal the small intestine as well.

While colonics, eating good food, taking probiotics to help repopulate good bacteria and Tanalbit to take out an overabundance of ‘ bad’ yeast and bacteria certainly help one to feel better and heals the colon, if you continue to battle “Candida” or dysbiosis, leaky gut and all the symptoms that go with them, the small intestine also needs to be worked on.

My favorite ‘go to’ healing substance is clay. I just purchased a three clay blend for internal use and I’m excited to use it internally for both the large and small intestine. Taking clay internally has a great record for healing the guts.

The more I study guts, the more amazed I am at the complexity and wonder of the them. If your guts are not in great shape, you are not going to be healthy. Period.

How Health Works

Scott Ohlgren is unlike any other teacher for encouraging and teaching you about a healthy eating for life. His approach to cleansing is focused on nutrition, and told me once that “our bodies are cleansing machines” and the more we help it along, the healthier we are. If you are having problems with constipation, you won’t doing this program!

From Scott, “Cleansing is the process of eliminating wastes and toxins from the cells, organs, and the bloodstream. This is done through a change to cleansing foods, eliminating processed sludge-producing foods, and adding a series of important cleansing skills to your daily regimen.”

You can find out more, and order his 28-day cleansing system, here.

Nut Milk

Cover blender blades with nuts, (soaked works best.) I use almonds the most. Add 1 ½ – 2 C Water, ¼ tsp Vanilla extract 3-5 Dates or other sweetener Blend thoroughly! The amount of nuts to water depends on how thick you want the milk. For cream like nut milk, try cashews.

Optional: Squeeze through seed bag to remove solids. You can make a seed bag from nylon organza from the fabric store.

Flax Crackers

3 C Flax seeds in enough clean water to cover the seeds plus a little more.
Soak until the seeds have jelled, a couple of hours to overnight.
When the flax has jelled you will now blend the seasonings.
Blend the following up in a blender.
(Don’t put the flax in the blender!)

1 juice of orange
1 red onion, chopped
2 cloves of garlic
Handful of fresh Basil
3 tsp chili powder
3 tsp Tamari or liquid aminos or soy sauce

Add 3 small tomatoes and blend coarsely to keep tomatoes chunky.

Stir in soaked flax seeds.

Spread batter thickly on solid dehydrator sheets.
Dehydrate at 105* for 4-6 hours. Peel cracker to dehydrate on other side for another 4-8 hours until crisp.

Play with the seasonings for the crackers. Mix and match seasoning by adding apple cider vinegar, peppers, roasted garlic and rosemary, sage etc. Fennel, sesame or sunflower seeds are good. Think of the crackers you like and season accordingly. Remember that the flavors intensify.
